HiScroll - Fits Just Right!

The oil-free scroll pump: suitable for almost every vacuum application in laboratories and research

Dry. Quiet. Efficient.

Discover the advantages of the HiScroll vacuum pump from Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions:

Due to its low noise level (47 dB(A)) compared to other scroll and backing pumps, the HiScroll is particularly suitable for use in the laboratory. This effectively solves the problem of noise pollution, which plays a major role in almost all laboratory and research applications.

As an oil-free backing pump, the HiScroll is perfectly suited for joint operation with turbomolecular pumps but can also be used in a variety of applications on its own. It is the ideal choice for applications that require an oil-free vacuum system. We offer attractive product packages with everything you need for use right away.

And best of all: the packages are available for fast delivery!

Frequently Asked Questions

A scroll pump, also known as a scroll vacuum pump, is a special type of gas transfer pump that is used to generate a vacuum.

The basic structure of a scroll pump consists of two spiral-shaped components, the so-called scrolls. One of these scrolls is fixed, while the other scroll moves eccentrically within the fixed scroll without rotating. Closed chambers are formed within the scrolls, the volume of which decreases towards the inside. As a result, the gas to be pumped flows from the recipient into the pump, is compressed within the pump and finally expelled through an outlet valve in the center of the scrolls. This process is repeated continuously, resulting in a constant compression of the gas inside the pump and the recipient is continuously pumped out.

Here you can watch a video showing how a scroll pump works.

The HiScroll vacuum pumps from Pfeiffer Vacuum are available in different pumping speed ranges to meet the different requirements in laboratory and research applications. These ranges include a nominal pumping speed of:

  • 6 m³/h
  • 12 m³/h
  • 18 m³/h

The different models offer a flexible choice, allowing users to select the right pump for their specific vacuum requirements.

The achievable final pressure depends on the size of the pump. The HiScroll 6 achieves a final pressure of 1.5 x 10-2 mbar, while the HiScroll 12 and 18 achieve a final pressure of 6 x 10-3 mbar. These values correspond to the final pressure tested before delivery.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to give a general answer here, as the choice of vacuum pump depends heavily on your specific application and various influencing factors. Important criteria are, for example, the size of the chamber, the desired final pressure and the time required to reach it. We will be happy to advise you personally and individually. Simply send us a no-obligation inquiry so that we can find the right HiScroll for your requirements together.

Gas ballast is used in vacuum pumps to prevent vapors from condensing in the pump circuit. This is particularly important if the pump is operated in processes with moisture. By introducing additional gas, the saturation vapor pressure is lowered, enabling the pump to expel the vapors before they can condense and damage the pump or degrade the ultimate pressure. The HiScroll series can be equipped with a manual or automatic gas ballast valve for this purpose. The manual gas ballast valve is already integrated in our attractive Basic and Advanced packages.

Three different accessories are available for the HiScroll series, which can be connected directly to the pump. In many applications, we recommend equipping the pump with an integrated pressure sensor that automatically adjusts the speed of the pump to the current pressure. This can reduce costs and wear. This pressure sensor is already integrated in our Advanced packages. We also offer a high-vacuum safety valve which, in addition to the non-return valve fitted as standard, ensures maximum reliability, especially in the event of a power failure or unintentional switch-off. Another optional accessory is the automatic gas ballast valve, which automatically prevents the condensation of vapors inside the pump and thus increases the efficiency and service life of the pump. Please indicate your interest in this accessory directly in your inquiry so that we can provide you with a customized offer.
